Esporao Reserva White Organic
Founded in 1973 by Jose Roquette and Joaquim Bandeira, Esporao is now led by João Roquette, the son of co-founder José. It has grown to become one of the largest producers of organic wine in both Portugal and globally.
While their base is in the Alentejo region, Esporao also crafts wines from the Douro and Vinho Verde regions of Portugal. Their dedication to sustainability was recently recognised with a Green Michelin Star for the Herdade do Esporao restaurant.
Produced from vines with an average age of 15-25 years. Planted on soils with a granite and schist base, enriched with a high proportion of loam and clay. A blend of native varietals: Antao Vaz, Arinto, and Roupeiro, with each varietal fermented individually before blending. 70% of the wine is fermented in stainless steel, while the remainder is aged in new American and French oak barriques. Aged for 6 months on the fine lees after fermentation.
