Disznókő Tokaji Aszú 5 Puttonyos Gift Boxed 2011, Hungary Tokaj, Hungary
Disznoko produces uniquely sweet Wines with a perfect balance between the purity of the fruit, the freshness of the grape varietals and the power of the botrytis. The vinification of Tokaji is unique - the noble rot affected grapes are picked one by one, then soaked in must or wine in the proportion determined by the number of "puttonyos", the historical measure equivalent to one harvesting basket.
The 2011 Vintage Wine was grown in a hot and dry climate where ripening was very early. The quality of the aszú grapes was exceptional, with great concentration from extreme passerillage, or shrivelling, which offers clean and fine wines with fresh, but supple acidity.
Each aszú grape is individually picked and stored in stainless steel until vinification on three or four passages through the vineyard. After pressing, the fermentation of the Wine is finished in stainless steel and aged in the cellar for two and half years in new oak barrels.
Disznoko 5 Puttonyos provides the perfect balance between the richness of the botrytis and the acidity of the fruit, making this wine ideal to serve with slightly spiced food, soft cheese and dessert. It can also be enjoyed as an aperitif or at the end of a meal.
