Food Pairing

Food Pairing Suggestions

Here are a few serving suggestions and pairing ideas to help you get the most from this wine, whether you’re enjoying it with food or simply savouring it on its own.

This vintage shines with dark‑chocolate desserts, black‑forest cake, chocolate fondant, or fig pudding. The purity of fruit and spice makes it a natural match for cocoa‑rich or berry‑based sweets.

For savoury pairings, reach for mature cheeses such as Stilton, aged Cheddar or blue cheeses with a salty edge. Smoked almonds, walnuts, and charcuterie also work beautifully with the wine’s spice and structure.

Quinta Do Vesuvio

Quinta do Vesuvio is one of the most iconic estates in Portugal’s Douro Valley, with a history dating back to 1565 and major vineyard development beginning in the early 19th century. Located in the remote Douro Superior, the estate has long been regarded as a benchmark for quality, earning the nickname “The Queen of the Douro.”

Today owned by the Symington family, the estate combines tradition and innovation, continuing to produce Vintage Ports using traditional foot treading in granite lagares, alongside modern Douro DOC wines. Its diverse vineyards, planted across varied altitudes and schist soils, contribute to wines known for their structure, complexity and ageing potential.
