Tasting Notes:

  • Subtle citrus and mineral notes add freshness to the Tawny Port’s rich, nutty and spicy aroma.

Food Pairing

Food Pairing Suggestions

Here are a few serving suggestions and pairing ideas to help you get the most from this wine, whether you’re enjoying it with food or simply savouring it on its own.

Shines with desserts that are rich or lightly spiced, such as creme brulee, almond tart, or poached pears. Its nutty, layered character also complements aged cheeses like Stilton, Comte, or aged Gouda, and roasted nuts bring out its subtle sweetness.

Ideal for after-dinner indulgence, it can also be savoured on its own in a generously sized glass.

Why We Love It

Why We Love This Port Wine

Our Review:

Bright acidity threads through the richer, nutty layers giving it a lovely sense of energy. The flavours fan out gently on the finish, creating a long, graceful taper that feels both refined and quietly powerful.

Meet The Wine Producer Behind The Bottle

A brief look at the producer’s heritage and winemaking approach.

Quinta Da Romaneira

Quinta da Romaneira is one of the Douro Valley’s largest and most historic estates, with origins dating back to 1757, when it was officially registered during the Pombaline demarcation of the Douro wine region. Located on the north bank of the Douro River in the Cima Corgo sub-region, the estate has a long tradition of Port wine production. In 2004, the estate was acquired and revitalised under the leadership of Christian Seely and partners, with extensive vineyard restoration, modern winemaking facilities, and a renewed focus on producing estate-bottled wines that express the character of its terraces, schist soils, and unique microclimates.

The estate covers 412 hectares, of which 86 hectares are planted with vines, all used exclusively for wines produced on the property. Quinta da Romaneira makes both Port wines (including Vintage, Late Bottled Vintage, and Tawny styles) and premium Douro table wines, crafted from traditional Portuguese varieties such as Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca. Known for wines that combine power and elegance while reflecting the Douro’s terroir.
