Graham's Fine Tawny Port FAQs

How is this port produced?

This Tawny is crafted from grapes harvested by hand across Graham’s five historic quintas. After fermentation, the wine is aged in seasoned oak casks, where slow oxidative development creates its characteristic dried‑fruit and nutty profile.

Blended from multiple casks to achieve a consistent house style, light, smooth, slightly dry and beautifully balanced.

Why is Tawny Port lighter than Ruby Port?

Years of maturation in oak barrels gradually soften both the wine's colour and character. This process produces the lighter tawny appearance and more delicate style that distinguishes Tawny Port from the fruit-driven profile of Ruby Port.

Do you need to let Tawny Port breathe?

No. Because this port has already matured in oak casks, it does not usually benefit from extended aeration and can be poured and enjoyed immediately.

How should an opened bottle of Tawny Port be stored?

After opening, keep the bottle tightly sealed and store it in a cool place or refrigerator. This helps preserve the wine's quality and allows you to enjoy it over several weeks.
