Taylors Historic Collection The Globe FAQ's

What style is this and how sweet/dry is it?

An aged tawny Port with a naturally sweet profile balanced by warm, mature fruit and soft oak influences.

Which grapes and regions are involved?

Like most traditional tawny ports, The Globe is drawn from classic Douro red grape varieties. Typically including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cao, selected for structure, aromatic intensity and compatibility with long cask ageing.

How is it made and aged?

After fermentation, the wine is fortified with grape spirit to retain natural sugar. It is then placed into seasoned oak casks where it undergoes extended oxidative ageing, allowing gradual interaction with air that softens tannins and develops complex notes of dried fruit, spice, nuts and wood.

How should it be served and when is it best enjoyed?

Serve lightly chilled (around 12–14 °C) to bring out its multi‑layered aromas and smooth, dense texture. The Globe is ideal at the end of a meal, at relaxed gatherings, or during celebratory occasions.
