Kopke 50 Year Old Port In Wooden Gift Box

Kopke is one of the most emblematic port wine houses. Recently they launched its 50 year old tawny, “wines that celebrate the wisdom of time”.

• Mahogany colour with greenish hues, a sign that this is a very old wine
• Intense on the nose, with remarkable complexity and breadth, with layered aromas of wood from its ageing in barrel and notes of dried figs, snuff, white prunes and walnuts
• The palate reveals the fullness of a great old port wine, with never-ending flavours that reveal how long it has aged in wood, such as spice and dried fruit, wrapped in fresher notes that culminate in a unique and endless finish

Established in 1638 by Christiano Kopke and his son, Nicolau Kopke. They came to Portugal as representatives of the Hanseatic League. The House of Kopke is the eldest porto wine export firm.

In June 2006, the Sogevinus Group extends its influence throughout the port wine sector through the acquisition of C. N. Kopke. Nowadays Kopke is the oldest porto wine brand and assumes the leadership in the ‘Porto Colheita’ category.

Befitting their status as the oldest port house, their bottles are easily recognisable by their traditional and hand-stencilled style.
