Kopke 20 Year Old Tawny Port FAQ's

How is this Port made?

Grapes are hand‑picked at optimal ripeness, then destemmed, crushed and macerated to extract colour, tannins and aromatics. Fermentation takes place in lagares at controlled temperatures until the must reaches the ideal sweetness, at which point grape brandy is added to create the final fortified wine.

How should I store this Port at home?

Store upright in a cool, dry place away from light and temperature fluctuations. Once opened, refrigerate and enjoy within several weeks for the freshest expression.

Does this Port require decanting?

No decanting required. Long cask ageing means the wine is already open and expressive. If sediment forms naturally over time, simply pour gently or use a small funnel with a fine mesh.

How is it best served?

Serve slightly chilled at 12–14°C to highlight the wine’s finesse, freshness and spice. A small tulip‑shaped Port glass helps focus the dried‑fruit and caramelised aromas.
