Taylors Vintage Port 2018
Taylor’s is one of the most esteemed port houses, established in 1692 by Job Bearsley. Today, the estate is overseen by Adrian Bridge, with David Guimaraens serving as the head winemaker.
Taylor’s Vintage Port is considered one of the world’s great fortified wines, produced only in outstanding years. It is crafted from the finest wines of the renowned estates: Quinta de Vargellas, Quinta de Terra Feita, and Quinta do Junco. After harvest, select lots from each estate are matured in oak vats for two winters. In the second spring, the tasting panel re-evaluates these wines, and if the quality is deemed exceptional, a vintage declaration is made, and the wines are blended. Vargellas contributes structure and elegance, while Terra Feita and Junco provide richness, depth, and intense fruit concentration.
