Quinta Da Pedra Milagres Alvarinho

Quinta da Pedra Milagres Alvarinho is a vibrant expression of the Alvarinho grape, with origins in one of the oldest estates in the Vinho Verde region, dating back to the 17th century. Located in the heart of Moncao and Melgaco, the estate benefits from pure granite soils and an Atlantic-influenced climate - ideal conditions for Alvarinho to flourish.

  • Colour is bright, vibrant yellow
  • Aromas reveal layers of fresh stone fruit, preserved fruit, delicate yellow flowers, and wet stone minerality
  • Palate is medium to full-bodied, with ripe fruit, refreshing acidity, a silky texture, and a long, enticing finish

The winemaking process begins with a light pre-fermentation maceration, followed by gentle pressing. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures, before finishing in very old French oak barrels - over 10 years old - to impart subtle depth without dominant oak flavours.

For the first six months, the wine undergoes batonnage, stirring the lees to enhance texture and complexity. Natural malolactic fermentation may occur in some barrels, contributing roundness to the profile. After 12 months in barrel, the wine is transferred back to stainless steel, then fined, filtered, and bottled. It is aged in bottle for at least 2–3 years before release.

This wine is drinking beautifully now but also has excellent ageing potential, evolving gracefully for up to 10 years from the harvest, with growing layers of complexity and depth.
