Mullineux Signature Straw Wine
A rare gem from the Swartland, Mullineux Signature Straw Wine is a handcrafted dessert wine that captures the essence of its unique terroir. Created by acclaimed winemakers Chris and Andrea Mullineux, Made exclusively from Chenin Blanc grapes grown on the granite-rich slopes of Kasteelberg Mountain.
Harvested late in the season - typically in March or April> The grapes are carefully laid on straw mats to dry, naturally concentrating their sugars and intensifying their flavour. After gentle pressing, the juice is slowly fermented and then aged in seasoned French oak barrels for over two years.
- The result is an opulent, golden wine with a rich, viscous texture and remarkable balance.
- Aromas of dried apricot, candied citrus, and lemon curd lead into a palate bursting with honeyed peach and orange zest.
- A bright line of acidity cuts through the sweetness, delivering a long, elegant finish.
