Ferreira Ruby Port

Ferreira ruby port is a classic wine. Young and attractive, with the genuine flavour of the best wines produced in the Douro region. Care and knowledge accumulated over more than 250 years of excellence that make Ferreira the oldest and celebrated Portuguese brand in the world.

  • Porto Ferreira ruby is an intense and well-defined ruby colour that demonstrates the quality of the selected wines
  • Aromas of ripe fruit, refined by the careful ageing in wood and the batches that occur during the natural process
  • Full-bodied and rich, it has a good balance between its sweetness and tannin structure
  • Unique characteristics with a very persistent, fine and attractive finish

Store the bottle in an upright position, avoiding direct light and excessive humidity, ideally at a constant temperature between 16ºC-18ºC.

Porto Ferreira tawny can be drunk immediately and does not need to be aged or decanted. Serve between 14ºC-16ºC. Consume within a period of 1 month upon opening, during which time it maintains fresh tasting notes.

Picking of the grapes are by hand according to the traditional port wine method. After gentle crushing with partial destemming, alcoholic fermentation follows with maceration, which allows the greatest possible extraction of the constituents of the skins.

Fermentation takes place under a controlled temperature. The addition of wine brandy at the perfect moment by the winemaker halts the process. Due depending on the grape varieties, degree of maturation and desired sweetness. The final balance between the body and aroma of port wine comes from the combination of the different characteristics of the multiple varieties of grapes used.
