Chateau Ramon Monbazillac
Monbazillac is a renowned AOC in southwest France, set on the sun-drenched hillsides south of the Dordogne River near the town of Monbazillac. This historic area, part of the broader Bergerac wine region, is celebrated for producing some of France’s finest sweet white wines from Muscadelle, Sauvignon Blanc, and Semillon grapes touched by Botrytis cinerea (noble rot).
Chateau Ramon is a family-run estate rooted in the clay and limestone slopes of the Dordogne Valley. The grapes are handpicked in several careful passes through the vineyard, each picker selecting only the berries perfectly affected by noble rot. This painstaking approach concentrates the natural sugars in the fruit, creating richly flavoured, golden wines.
