Quinta Da Gaivosa LBV Port
A structured and expressive example of modern Douro winemaking, crafted from a carefully selected blend of traditional grape varieties. Produced by the Alves de Sousa family, it reflects a strong estate philosophy, with full control from vineyard to bottle ensuring consistency and quality.
Aged in oak for several years before release, this LBV develops depth and integration while remaining approachable in its youth. It delivers the richness and structure expected from a vintage-style Port, with immediate drinking pleasure and the ability to evolve further in bottle.
Tasting Profile:
- Appearance: Deep ruby with dense, inky highlights.
- Nose: Aromatic and intense, with ripe blackberries, plum compote and dark cherry, layered with notes of spice and dark chocolate.
- Palate: Full-bodied and concentrated, showing rich dark fruit at the core. Black cherry and baked plum are supported by cocoa, spice and a firm yet polished tannic structure.
- Finish: Long and smooth, with lingering dark fruit, cocoa and gentle warming spice.
