• Taylor's LBV Port 75cl: Taylor's is one of the great names in port wine and their LBV is consistently one of the finest expressions of the style available. Aged four to six years in seasoned oak casks, it delivers bold dark fruit at its core. Layered with chocolate, spice and a firm but smooth tannic structure. Rich, generous and long on the finish. Ready to drink now and a natural match for Stilton, mature Cheddar or dark chocolate.
• Courvoisier VSOP Cognac 70cl: VSOP represents a significant step up from the entry-level VS expression. Aged a minimum of four years, it develops noticeably more complexity. Dried apricot, toasted oak and warm vanilla on the nose, with a palate of honey, spice and ripe stone fruit. The finish is longer and more refined than the VS, with a gentle warmth that lingers beautifully. Best enjoyed neat or over a single piece of ice to let the aromas open fully.

Here are a few serving suggestions and pairing ideas to help you get the most from this wine and spirit pairing, whether you’re enjoying it with food or simply savouring it on its own.

With Taylor's LBV Port: Serve after dinner at 16-18°C alongside a cheeseboard featuring Stilton, mature Cheddar or aged Gouda. Also excellent with dark chocolate truffles, chocolate fondant or a walnut and fig cake. The firm tannic structure of the LBV means it can handle stronger flavours that would overwhelm a lighter port.

With Courvoisier VSOP Cognac: Best enjoyed neat or over a single piece of ice as a digestif. The VSOP has enough complexity to reward slow sipping without accompaniment. If pairing with food, try creme brulee, almond tart or good dark chocolate. Also works beautifully in a classic Cognac Sour.

Courvoisier Cognac: Founded in the early 1800s and based in Jarnac in the Charente, Courvoisier is one of the great names in French Cognac, famously associated with Napoleon Bonaparte and known as "The Cognac of Napoleon."
