Cider Brandy Old Fashioned

Ingredients:

  • 5 cl King Offa 30 Year Old Cider Brandy
  • 1 cl maple syrup (or high-quality simple syrup)
  • 2–3 dashes Angostura bitters (or clove-scented orange bitters)
  • Garnish: Thick strip of orange peel
  • Ice: Large clear ice cube

Method:

  1. Add syrup and bitters to a mixing glass.
  2. Add a large ice cube and pour in the cider brandy.
  3. Stir for 20–30 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.
  4. Strain into a rocks glass over a fresh large ice cube.
  5. Express the orange peel over the drink (coloured side down) to release oils, then drop it in.
