The wine combines Tempranillo from 30-year-old vines in Rioja Alta with Garnacha from La Pedriza in Rioja Oriental, bringing together elegant red fruit, spice and the distinctive character of carefully matured Rioja.

La Rioja Alta is one of Spain's most distinguished wine producers, founded in 1890 in Haro, at the heart of Rioja Alta. Five families came together to establish the winery with the ambition of creating wines capable of expressing the exceptional character of the region, and the company has remained closely connected to traditional Rioja winemaking ever since.

The winery's history is deeply intertwined with Haro's famous Barrio de la Estacion, where many of Rioja's most respected producers established their cellars. La Rioja Alta has built its reputation around wines that combine carefully selected fruit with extended ageing, developing the elegance, complexity and longevity that define classic Rioja.

The producer is particularly celebrated for iconic wines including Vina Ardanza, Gran Reserva 904 and Gran Reserva 890, each reflecting the house's commitment to quality and patience. La Rioja Alta also maintains an unusually high degree of control over production, including the production of its own oak barrels at its cooperage in Haro.

More than 130 years after its foundation, La Rioja Alta remains a family-owned winery dedicated to preserving Rioja's traditions while continually refining its approach to vineyard management and winemaking.
