Ramos Pinto Quinta De Ervamoira Vintage Port 2020

We are delighted to announce the release of the 2020 Quinta de Ervamoira vintage port. A production of only 9,200 bottles.

  • Opaque and dense in colour
  • Very intense fruity aromas of raspberry and wild berries
  • A slight floral hint of violet and a touch of peppermint
  • Very structured and complex on the palate, with unusually silky and fresh tannins combined with layers of red berries
  • A silky, aromatic finish
  • Ramos Pinto Quinta de Ervamoira vintage port 2020 is a full-bodied, dense and yet elegant wine

Fermentation took place in traditional lagar, then bottling of this vintage port was two years after the harvest. This port will continue to evolve for decades to come.

Only producing Quinta de Ervamoira vintage port in exceptional years from the best plots in the Douro Superior region. The total area of the quinta is 234 ha with 178 ha under vine and an average age of 30 years.

Ervamoira lies in a rocky area on the banks of the river Coa, where the weather is hot and dry, adding density and body to the wines, resulting in full-bodied and highly concentrated wines. The altitude, ranging from between 110 to 340 metres, ensures balance and preserves freshness.

A mild and damp start to the year, followed by a hot spring and summer, aided the intense ripening, with a high concentration of sugar, ripe, silky and surprisingly fresh tannins.
