The 2007 growing season was characterised by lower than average temperatures combined with several periods of rain during the spring and early summer. Due to constant rain on the 2nd of October, the course of the harvest was changed and although the ports produced after this are still of excellent quality, they do not have the same depth and structure as those before the rain. The nose has a rich base of butterscotch aromas with notes of plum and raisin with hints of tea leaf and cigar box. The palate is smooth and dense with a lively lightness on the mid palate and some delicious plum flavours. Colheitas are a perfect match with cheese - especially brie and camembert.
