Kopke Colheita Port 1950 In Wooden Gift Box

  • Bright amber in colour
  • It shows a complex nose of dried fruit, dried fig, walnut, almond and hazelnut
  • A well-balanced ensemble, with prevailing notes of honey and a subtle hint of toasted peanut
  • Rich and silky on the palate, it reveals excellent structure and remarkable unctuousness
  • A powerful wine, while elegant and well-balanced

Chill Kopke colheita port 1950 before serving reveals all its finesse and sophistication, especially when drunk with desserts made with caramel, dried fruit and spices. Such as caramel fondant with apple and ginger jelly, tarte tatin, creme brulee and medium-strength cheeses.

Store the wine in a cool and dry place, sheltering from light and temperature fluctuations. Keep the bottle in an upright position. Over time, it is natural that sediment will form at the bottom of a bottle of port wine. To assure its full quality and flavour, store in the bottle for as little time as possible. Drink soon after purchase.

Picking the grapes at the optimum time, then destemming, crushing and converting into wine through a process of careful maceration to extract their colour, tannins and aromas, enhanced by constant churning during fermentation.

This takes place in vats at a temperature between 28-30°C until it teaches the right degree of sweetness. Introducing grape brandy at this point to create the final fortified wine. A wine of high quality, made from one single harvest.

A colheita wine matures in oak barrels for periods of time that can vary, but never less than 7 years. It is then bottled and sold according to the demands of the market.
