Grahams The Stone Terraces Vintage Port 2017
Grahams The Stone Terraces vintage port 2017 is of exceptional quality. So exceptional, that the Symington family made their first consecutive vintage declaration in their 137- year history.
This is the fourth time that Stone Terraces vintage port has been made. The grapes come from the magnificent hand-built stone terraces which surround the estate house at Quinta dos Malvedos and date from the 18th century.
2017 was characterised by intense heat and low records of rainfall. Flowering and bud burst developed under good conditions and the high daytime temperatures and cool nights in August and September allowed for a gradual and even ripening. Harvest was exceptionally early, with some producers harvesting at the beginning of August. Conditions were similar to 1945, an extremely highly regarded port.
